This delicate, round tea set is made of Yixing clay. This type of clay is famously produced in Yixing city in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu. Yixing clay absorbs tea during brewing. After prolonged use, Yixing tea pots season over time, and develop a thin layer of coating that retains the flavor and color of the tea. Therefore, tea connoisseurs tend to dedicate a particular teapot for one tea in order to not corrupt the character of the teas being steeped. This tea set includes a tea pot and two tea cups. You will notice delicate art engraved at the inside bottom of each tea cup. 

For usage and care: hand-wash only with fresh water. No soap or detergent should be applied.
